Convert Bar to Exapascal
Bar
A bar is a unit of pressure defined as 100,000 pascals (Pa). It is not an SI unit, but it is widely used in many fields, including meteorology, oceanography, and engineering.
The bar was introduced by the Norwegian meteorologist Vilhelm Bjerknes, and it is derived from the Greek word "baros," meaning weight. Although the bar is not an SI unit, it is accepted for use with the SI.
Exapascal
An exapascal (EPa) is a unit of pressure in the International System of Units (SI), equal to 10¹⁸ pascals (Pa). A pascal is defined as one newton per square meter (N/m²), making the exapascal an extremely large measure of pressure. It is used in scientific contexts involving immense pressures, such as those found in astrophysical phenomena or the study of planetary cores.
The term "exapascal" combines the SI prefix "exa-", representing 10¹⁸, and the unit "pascal," named after Blaise Pascal, a French mathematician and physicist renowned for his contributions to pressure and fluid mechanics. The prefix "exa-" was introduced in 1975 and derives from the Greek word ἕξ (hex), meaning "six," as 10¹⁸ corresponds to 1,000,000³. The exapascal is rarely used in practical applications due to its enormous magnitude.
